AED Training Course Sheffield

Sheffield First Aid Courses offers an AED Training course aimed at equipping participants with practical skills to use an Automated External Defibrillator during sudden cardiac arrests. The course emphasises real-world scenarios to build confidence and proficiency in managing cardiac emergencies with an AED.

Course Overview

Sheffield First Aid Courses is delighted to present our Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training course. This course, rooted in practical application and real-world scenarios, is designed to provide participants with the essential skills needed to use an AED in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest. By the end of the course, participants will have the confidence and capability to respond effectively to cardiac emergencies using an AED.

Who Should Attend?

This AED Training course is suitable for anyone interested in acquiring life-saving skills. It is particularly beneficial for individuals in roles where access to an AED is likely, such as office workers, teachers, fitness instructors, and care home staff. However, no previous experience is necessary, and the course is open to anyone eager to enhance their first aid knowledge and skills.

What You'll Learn

Participants in this course will learn how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and will understand the procedures to follow when faced with a potential cardiac arrest scenario. This includes recognising the signs of cardiac arrest, administering effective chest compressions, and safely using an AED. The course also covers what to do post-defibrillation and while waiting for the emergency services to arrive.

Course Duration

Our AED Training course is designed to be comprehensive yet concise, running for a total of 3 hours. This duration allows for thorough coverage of theory and ample opportunity for hands-on practice with AEDs, all while maintaining an engaging pace.

Course Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion, accredited by Sheffield First Aid Courses. This certificate signifies the attendee’s commitment to emergency preparedness and their ability to operate an AED, although it is not a formally recognised qualification.

Assessment

Assessment in this course is continuous, conducted throughout the training session. Rather than having a final exam, our trainers will observe participants’ understanding and application of the AED techniques taught throughout the course. This approach allows for immediate feedback and correction, ensuring every participant leaves the course confident in their new skills.
